Leap into this glorious mess where the natural world has taken over. Feel the untamed freedom! Admire the survival of the fittest! Thrill in the visual feast! Envelop yourself in the grace and elegance of a single curving stem! Stand in awe of the magnificent chaos as masses of flowers battle their way toward the sun. View Mother Nature’s glorious feral splendor! Experience The Wildings!
The Wildings Floral Painting Series was inspired by the artist’s own wildflower meadow where the flora has gone a-wilding. Beautiful and diverse, an abundance of wildings have emerged over the years. Formerly rare and even vanished species have magically reappeared. Ancient seeds birthed from deep within the rich undisturbed soil, and others arrived, delivered from far and near as gifts from the birds who make their homes here. Amazing things happen when you let the land go wild!
A “wilding” is defined as a plant that is a wild native, a weed or those that have escaped cultivation. Rewilding is a form of environmental conservation and ecological restoration that has significant potential to increase biodiversity, create self-sustainable environments and mitigate climate change. Small scale Rewilding can be achieved through Wildlife gardening, turning gardens into mini carbon sinks that support insects, birds and small mammals while advancing regenerative plant growth.
