Description
The Dwarf Scorpionfish by Amy E. Fraser. This is an expressive tropical fish portrait in shades of red, orange and brown with large golden eyes complimented with a deep seaweed green textural background.
The Dwarf Scorpionfish (Sebastapistes fowleri) is a Scorpaenidae (also known as scorpionfish). They are a family of mostly marine ray-finned fish that includes many of the world's most venomous species. As their name suggests, scorpionfish have a type of "sting" in the form of sharp spines coated with venomous mucus. The family is a large one, with hundreds of members. The fishes in this genus are found in the Indian and Pacific Ocean.
Amy E. Fraser’s Oil Pastel Animal Portrait series is an impassioned tribute to the beauty and magic of our beloved Animal Kingdom. Fun, gestural and energetic, these vibrant animals are painted in a stylized realism that is imbued with distinctive character and personality.
