Description
Here is a view of the Log and Sod Squash Garden Terraces in Late July. This image is of the bottom half of the side terrace garden featuring the green cantaloupe melon plants and the butternut winter squash plants. Here they are seen dominating the bottom four terrace beds. These exuberant vine plants were aggressively attempting to take over the very hefty Big Mama and Brandywine tomato plants. Many of the melon and squash plants grew all the way up the 6 foot tall tomato trellises. Many vines escaped out the sides climbing up the rocky slope behind them and quickly across the 8 foot stretch of grass bordering the wildflower meadow. It was like Mother Nature’s healthy version of an Easter Egg hunt.
The Victory Garden collection is presented as a photo diary of Amy E. Fraser’s vegetable gardening journey during the 2020 pandemic. All works in collaboration with Mother Nature, combining Art, Agriculture, Landscaping and Adventure!
