The Stag, known as the king of the forest, the woodland prince, and lord of the woods is a benevolent spirit. Deer have played significant roles in the mythology of various world cultures as objects of worship, legend and myth, the incarnation of deities, the focus of heroic quests and deeds, or as magical disguise and enchantments for princesses and princes in many folk and fairy tales. Deer also symbolize a connection to the supernatural, the Otherworld, magic or the fairy realm as messenger or familiar. With elegant antlers and a gentle gaze, the Stag symbolizes calm, inner peace and a return to nature. Deer are among the most beloved and admired animals for their beauty, gracefulness and composure.
