Description
Just Kidding, this is our friend, local celebrity and all around Super Hero posing in the Tomato Maze. She was such a good sport to climb into that scary green abyss! This image, with our lovely model providing human scale, illustrates how huge the Tomato Maze tomato plants actually grew. We learned a lot about determinate and indeterminate Tomato varieties. Some tomatoes have a set height in which they complete their growth cycle and then focus all of their energy on fruit production, and others keep on growing and producing fruit for as long as there is good weather and as tall as they can be supported. In this case the Sweet Cherry Tomatoes and Yellow Pear varieties made it out of the tops of the 8 foot tall trellises to well beyond, some 10-12 feet tall. We were amazed!
The Victory Garden collection is presented as a photo diary of Amy E. Fraser’s vegetable gardening journey during the 2020 pandemic. All works in collaboration with Mother Nature, combining Art, Agriculture, Landscaping and Adventure!
